At Faith Basics, we are passionate about helping believers deepen their understanding of Christian faith and practice. Our mission is to provide clear, accessible resources that make biblical teaching practical and relevant for everyday life. Through our books, study guides, and discussion materials, we aim to equip individuals, small groups, and churches with tools to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Whether you’re new to the faith or looking to strengthen your spiritual foundation, Faith Basics offers a grounded approach to navigating key biblical principles, rooted in sound doctrine and timeless truth.

About Faith Basics
Faith Basics was created to meet a need within our church community for a discipleship resource that clearly teaches the essentials of the Christian Faith. During a search for a discipleship tool that was free from denominational bias or personal opinions, no resource was found that simply covered the basics of our shared beliefs. We desired a resource that could provide flexibility in emphasizing the core scripture-based doctrines at the heart of our relationship with Jesus.
After nine months of writing, Pastor John Jensen developed Faith Basics, a resource that delivers exactly what our church needed. The first cohort to use the study guide found it transformative, and soon Pastors from other churches discovered its value for their own communities. Today, Faith Basics is being used in Southern Baptist churches, a Protestant church, and our own non-denominational congregation.
Faith Basics outlines the thirteen core tenets of the Christian faith as revealed in Scripture, helping believers understand and embrace these essential truths. Whether you’re new to Christianity or seeking to strengthen your foundation, this study will guide you through key doctrines such as the nature of God, the role of Jesus, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the authority of Scripture.
About Pastor John
Pastor John Jensen combines a deep love for theology with a genuine heart for the church. John has been proclaiming Jesus as Lord since he was five years old, and has 17 years of experience in studying and teaching Christian doctrine both locally and globally. He holds two undergraduate degrees in Children’s and Family Ministry and Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute, as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Outside of ministry, John enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and playing disc golf.
